Logistics and funding

Our biophilic school will be a co-educational day school, non-denominational and non-selective - open to pupils from all socio-economic backgrounds.

We will educate children from nursery age to 11-years-old and, ideally, act as a feeder to a nearby secondary school designed around the same biophilic principles.
Governance and funding
The initial philanthropy of TG Escapes will require further financial support for the school to be free at the point of entry for all students. However, the main disadvantage of opening as a free school is the prohibitive curriculum restraint which would dilute the biophilic learning impact.
Unless working closely with an established sponsor and securing local authority backing, a new Free School would face considerable legislative and practical barriers … Arguably, more potential lies with the greater flexibility of the independent schools’ sector, particularly as investment appetite remains strong.

Neil Roskilly, former Chief Executive of the Independent Schools Association

Timeline
The school could be built all at once, or in stages that allow for a lower initial outlay and more rapid opening. The key aims for the months ahead will be to secure endorsement for the project from a variety of stakeholders, the formation of an advisory board and the creation of a dedicated fundraising and publicity campaign team.
